The 87th Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Annual Scientific Congress, held jointly with the ANZCA (Australia-New Zealand College of Anaesthesia), was convened at the International Convention Centre, Sydney.
The NNPDSC (Neurosurgical Nursing Professional Development Scholarship Committee) conference was held in Sydney CBD on 1st June, 2018. This meeting was attended by neurosurgical nurses from all-over NSW. The NNPDSC is part of the Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) initiative.

First in NSW – Successful treatment of broad-based aneurysm using a novel intra-saccular device at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital
Aneurysms can have different shapes, sizes and locations. The microsurgical and endovascular treatment techniques used to treatment individual aneurysms vary depending on these aneurysm characteristics. Traditionally, broad-based aneurysms have been better treated with microsurgical clipping.
