Cranial Procedures

Many cranial conditions require operations on the skull and brain. Since the brain is contained within the rigid skull (cranium), brain operations require access through the skull, either though small openings (burrholes) or larger bone windows (craniotomy). Once access to the brain is gained, various procedures are performed depending on the individual disease or conditions.
